
Mitchell Meissner Wins PGA Tour Latinoamerica’s Totalplay Cup; Named Player of the Year

HOUSTON — Former Rice golfer Mitchell Meissner capped off an unbelievable season, winning the PGA Tour Latinoamerica's Totalplay Cup and earning the Player of the Year award.
Meissner won the cup by 151 points over Cristobal Del Solar. In addition to walking away with a $20,000 bonus for winning the Totalplay Cup, Meissner earned membership onto the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour and invitations into every open tournament next year.
In 12 tournaments this year, the 2018 Rice graduate earned three runner-up finishes, at the Estrella del Mar Open in February, the Quito Open in May, and earlier this month at the Volvo Golf Championship. He also posted two third-place finishes, a fifth-place finish, and nine top-ten finishes.
In 48 total rounds, 43 were at par or better and 39 were under par, including three times firing a 64 (Diners Club Peru Open, and twice at the Fortox Colombia Classic).
