Women's T&F to Send Six to NCAA West Prelims

HOUSTON - The Rice Owls women's track and field team will be well-represented at next week's NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville, Arkansas as the NCAA Committee announced on Thursday (5/19) that six athletes made the final field.
The NCAA West Preliminary meet is one of two regional events, which serve as the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Athletes gain entry into the competition by having one of the top-48 best marks of the region (East or West) in their respective events. In order to advance to the final round in Eugene, Oregon, an athlete must finish among the top-12 (per region) in their respective events.

7:00 p.m. - Shot Put; Erna Gunnarsdottir - 8th/17.29m

2:30 p.m. - High Jump; Josie Taylor - 41st/1.76m
6:00 p.m. - Triple Jump; Ginnie Okafor - 47th/12.60m
