Face No. 40 Charlotte in Denton on Saturday
In Brief: Rice rolled to a 6-0 win over Sam Houston on Sunday in the Owls' first match in Huntsville since 1988. The Owls, currently tied for 65th in the ITA computer rankings, improved to 7-3 while the Bearkats dropped to 4-6.
Doubles: The Owls captured the doubles point by dropping only a pair of games between the second and third lines.
Singles: The Owls maintained their pace in singles, gabbing first sets on all six courts and racing to the clinch while dropping only a combined five games at the fourth, fifth, and sixth lines.
Elizabeth Schmidt: "Nice to get back in the win column but what was even more pleasing was the focus and level of play by our team. We took the lessons learned from the last match and implemented them today. Now we want to continue with it as we head into two challenging matches next weekend."
Up Next: The Owls will travel to Denton next weekend for a pair of matches against Conference USA foes. They will take on 40th ranked Charlotte at noon on Saturday and then meet North Texas on Sunday.
