Rice records seven personal best marks
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Rice Owls women's track and field team recorded seven personal best marks and placed two athletes in the top-three to highlight the team's performance at this weekend's Charlie Thomas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.
Junior thrower Erna Gunnarsdottir placed second overall in the shot put with a mark of 16.31m while freshman high jumper Josie Taylor notched her third straight top-three finish with a second place result (1.73m) in the high jump.
Distance runner Lourdes Vivas de Lorenzi established a personal best time of 9:51.01 in the 3000m, which ranks eight in Conference USA this season. Freshman Eliza Kraule also secured the top spot in C-USA thus far in 2022 with 3648 points in the pentathlon, finishing sixth among collegiate competitors.
