Zipoli Earns C-USA Weekly Honor

Owls host UTSA at 11 a.m. Friday
Rice freshman Allison Zipoli has been named Conference USA's Female Tennis Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 20. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Surf & Turf Golf.
Zipoli improved to 6-0 in singles this spring with a pair of wins over the weekend, highlighted by delivering the clinching point in the Owls 4-0 win over LSU on Sunday. The win snapped a five-game winning streak for the Tigers over the Owls.
The Owls (5-1), who are ranked 57th in the first ITA computer rankings, will host C-USA rival UTSA on Friday at 11 a.m. at the George R. Brown Tennis Center and then travel to College Station on Saturday to face off against Texas A&M at noon on Saturday. The Aggies are ranked seventh in the ITA computer rankings and eighth in the Tennis Channel coaches poll.
