Owls Add Ratkovic to 23-24 Recruiting Class

Member of Montenegro’s Fed Cup team since 2018
Rice women's tennis coach Elizabeth Schmidt announced on Friday that Divna Ratkovic of Bar, Montenegro has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete with the Owls beginning with the 2023-24 season.
Ratkovic has been a member of Montenegro's Fed Cup team since 2018 and has won two singles and three doubles titles in ITF tournament events in addition to over 60 national tournaments and has a career-best ITF junior ranking of 133. She has one singles and six doubles wins on the Tennis Europe junior tour.
"We are excited to welcome Divna to the Rice family," Schmidt stated. "After watching Divna compete and getting to know her better, Colby (Meeks) and I were confident she would be an excellent fit for our program. She is a determined competitor on the court who uses her creative mind to build points. Off court, Divna is equally as driven in all that she does. We are looking forward to her joining our team in August."
Ratkovic will join with Anushka Ashar as incoming freshmen for Schmidt in August of 2023.
Rice opens the 2023 dual season on January 21st when they host the Lamar Cardinals at 1 p.m. at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
