
Abercrombie, Moore Named to NABC Honors Court

HOUSTON — The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its annual Honors Court Tuesday afternoon, with Rice duo Riley Abercrombie and Payton More earning the distinction.
In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes had to meet a set of standards that includes being either a junior or senior, a cumulative 3.20 or higher grade point average at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year, and have matriculated at least one year at their current institution (which must be a Division I, II, III or NAIA member).
In his first season with the program, Abercrombie saw action in all 28 games, making 15 starts. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds. He was also third on the team with 49 three-pointers while majoring in Sport Management.
Moore is a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member. The Los Angeles, Calif., native saw action in 88 games, making three starts. He averaged 4.2 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game. He majored in Sociology while minoring in Business.
Located in Kansas City, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve and enhance the sport. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.
