Golf Finishes Round One of Aggie Invitational

Bryan, Texas — After a more than three hour weather delay, the Rice men's golf team closed round one of the Aggie Invitational in a tie for 10th-place.
The Owls carded a 12-over 300 to sit in a tie with UTSA, two strokes behind seventh-place. No. 5 Texas leads the team competition at five-under par, seven strokes in front of No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Texas A&M.
Senior Jake Benson and junior Harrison Hineline are tied for 21st-place after carding a two-over par 74. Freshman Rodrigo Martin and junior Jack Diamond posted a four-over 76 to tie for 42nd-place.
Senior Rishi Kejriwal, playing as an individual, is tied for 77th-place after carding eight-over par 80 while sophomore Thomas Bockholt III finished with a 10-over 82 to sit in a tie for 85th-place.
Texas Pierceson Coody leads the individual tournament at six-under par, one stroke in front of Houston's Alexander Frances.

The second round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. Rice will tee off beginning at 9:50 a.m. from hole No. 10 and is paired with student-athletes from Kansas and UTSA.
