
Owls Extend Streak to Six

North Texas match moved to Thursday at 1 p.m.
Houston: The 34th ranked Rice women's tennis team extended their winning streak to six by dispatching Memphis 4-1 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Saturday.
Doubles: Maria Budin and Diae El Jardi improved to 6-2 on the season to give the Owls the early advantage and Anna Bowtell and Victoria Smirnova provided the clinching win at the third line to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
Singles: Anna Bowtell improved to 6-2 on the season with a swift straight set win at the fourth line to build the Owls lead to 2-0. After Memphis took the match at the first line, Federica Trevisan and El Jardi closed out their matches and the dual at nearly the same time to keep the Owls undefeated in eight matches at home this year.

Up Next: The Owls continue the homestand on Thursday, March 18 at 1 p.m. in a match moved from Sunday due to anticipated rain in the Houston area. Fans are now permitted to attend matches at GRBTC with the following protocols.
