
Rice Trio Named United Soccer Coaches First Team All-South Region

HOUSTON — Rice Soccer goalkeeper Bella Killgore, midfielder Delaney Schultz and defender Caleigh Page were named First Team All-South Region by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced.
Killgore earns All-Region honors for the second straight year after earning Second Team All-Conference USA. All-Conference honors for the second straight year, having played every minute of the season. She led C-USA in saves (103), save percentage (.858) and saves per game (5.72), while placing fifth in goals against average (0.88). The Houston native recorded four shutouts while allowing just one or fewer goals in 15 of 18 games. She was twice been named the C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week and also recorded a goal and two assists, both of which came on game-winning goals.
Schultz earns becomes the third Owl to earn All-Region honors three straight years, including the second straight as a First Team honoree. The Conference USA Player and Midfielder of the Year led the team in goals, assists and points. She was second in the conference with nine goals and 25 points and fourth with seven assists, while her four game-winning goals are the best in the league. She accounted for 64.0% of Rice's goals, scoring or assisting on 16 of the team's 25. Of her nine goals, six tied or gave Rice the lead, including two of their three overtime goals.
With 21 goals and 20 assists in her career, she became the third player in school history with 20 goals and 20 assists. During the year, she was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top 100 players list while also being named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Caleigh Page earns her first All-Region honor. She started every game, playing in 96.5% of the team's minutes. She tied for third on the team with seven points and was second on the team and tied for seventh in C-USA with a career-best five assists. The Los Altos, Calif., native scored her second career goal in the 75th minute at Houston Baptist, recording the game-winner in a 2-1 victory. Page helped limit the opposition to 13.9 shots per game and just 6.9 shots on goal.
