
Schuman and Enechukwu Named to CoSIDA All-District Team

In contention for All-America® honors
Trey Schuman and Ikenna Enechukwu have been named to CoSIDA's 2021 Academic All-District® Football Team for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Both will be placed on the ballot to determine the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America® to be announced in mid-December.
Schuman is a repeat honoree on the all-district team and was the Owls nominee for the Campbell Trophy.
A three-year starter at defensive end who has posted a career-high 35 tackles this season, he is the second Rice football player to be a four-time recipient of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and received his degree in Economics while posting 3.78 GPA. He is currently pursuing his MBA at Rice and has a 4.00 GPA.
Enechukwu starts alongside Schuman on the Owls defensive line, moving between the defensive tackle and defensive end position. He leads the team with 19 quarterback hurries, is second with 24 total pressures and seven tackles for loss, and tied for second with three quarterback sacks (all career highs). He was a member of the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and a nominee for the AFCA Good Works Team while posting a 3.50 GPA in Kinesiology.
