Golf Closes Fall Slate at Steelwood Collegiate Invitational

HOUSTON — After its best finish of the year, the Rice Golf team will close its fall schedule at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,096-yard Steelwood Country Club in Loxley, Ala.
TEAM FIELD
Leading the field are two teams in the latest Golfweek Top 100 in No. 32 UAB and No. 41 Missouri. Joining Rice in the field are Cincinnati, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Alabama, Rutgers, South Alabama and Wisconsin;

Jake Benson – No. 2 position … 2020 First Team All-Conference USA ... Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar ... For Saturday's first and second rounds, the Owls will tee off from the holes 11-14 at 8:30 a.m. CT. Rice will compete in groups with student-athletes from Louisiana Tech and Memphis. Sunday's tee times and pairings will depend on results following the previous round.
UP NEXT
Following the Bentwater Intercollegiate, the Owls will take the winter off before opening the 2022 spring slate Feb. 14-15 at the Border Olympics in Laredo.
