Budin and El Jardi Named Champion Doubles Team
In Brief: Maria Budin and Federica Trevisan picked up wins in singles while Michaela Haet and Victoria Smirnova added a win in doubles as the Owls posted a 3-3 overall record on the final day of play at the TCU Invite at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth on Tuesday.
Singles: Budin picked up her second singles win in three matches with 6-3, 6-0 decision over Texas A&M's Dorthea Faa-Hviding while Trevisan evened her spring record at 1-1 by outlasting A&M's Tatiana Makarova 6-4, 7-6.
Doubles: Haet and Smirnova raced to a 6-2 win over Faa-Hviding and Katya Townsend. While Budin and Diae El Jardi dropped their final match of tournament, they were named one of three doubles champions of the event based on their 2-1 record.
