C-USA Selects WBB Games for ESPN+ Streaming

HOUSTON – Six Rice women's conference basketball games have been selected for streaming on the ESPN+ platform, announced by Conference USA on Tuesday.
The Owls' home games against UAB (Jan. 22) and WKU (Feb. 12), along with road contests at UTSA (Jan. 2), Old Dominion (Jan. 16), North Texas (Jan. 28) and Southern Miss (Feb. 6) will be streamed on ESPN+.
Both of the Owls first two road games (Little Rock/UT-Arlington) will also be streamed on ESPN+, bringing the total games on the platform to eight. Additional Rice games may be picked up by ESPN+ throughout the season. Check RiceOwls.com and follow @RiceWBB on Twitter for additional information.
Game times for Rice's 12 home dates were also unveiled with the Owls tipping off the new season tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov. 25) when they host Houston Baptist at 2 p.m on CUSAtv.
All three of Rice's non-conference home games will begin at 2 p.m., including tilts against Texas Southern (Dec. 11) and Louisiana (Dec. 16).
C-USA adjusted this season's conference format to a new 18-game regular season format that focuses on the health and safety of the student-athletes. Schools will play two games per visit at four select C-USA schools and host four select teams for a two-game series, while playing a rival opponent one time home and away.
The Owls begin Conference USA play at home at the turn of the calendar in January, hosting UTEP Jan. 8/9 in consecutive games at 1 p.m. Rice then welcomes UAB to Tudor Fieldhouse on Jan. 22/23 with both contests scheduled for 12 p.m., before concluding the January home schedule with a showdown versus North Texas on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m.
The Owls conclude the conference season in February versus WKU on Feb. 12/13 (2 and 4 p.m.) followed by the final homestand on Feb. 26/27 against Louisiana Tech (2 and 4 p.m.).
Due to COVID-19 protocols and safety measure currently in place, Rice University has announced no fans will be allowed to attend the season opener. Information on the status of future games will be released at a later date.
