Rice in 14th Place at Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, La. — Rice golf is in 14th-place at 32-over par after two rounds of the Louisiana Classics, played at the par-72, 6,866-yard Oakbourne Country Club.
Senior Grant Rogers and freshman Austin Escamilla are tied for 45th place at seven-over par. Rogers shot rounds of 76-75 while Escamilla carded a 79-72. The 72 is his second round of par or better this year.
Junior Nicholas Duggan is tied for 63rd place at 10-over par after posting rounds of 79 and 75. Sophomore Jake Benson posted consecutive rounds of 78 to sit in a 73rd place tie at 12-over par while freshman Harrison Hineline is tied for 81st place at 14-over par after carding rounds of 84-74.
McNeese State leads heading into the final round at five-over par, one stroke in front of UTSA. UTSA's Chad Sewell and Illinois' Tommy Kuhl are tied for the individual lead at two-under par, one stroke in front of McNeese State's Blake Elliott and Collin Clark of UTSA.
