Stephens Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Senior Forward Maintained 3.90 GPA In Politocal Science
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rice's Louise Stephens has been named to the 2019 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Thursday (Nov. 7).
The honor recognizes the top student-athletes in the nation for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Stephens was named to the Academic All-District 7 team representing Division I soccer schools in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Idaho.
This semester Stephens has maintained a 3.90 grade point average majoring in Political Science. The forward from Houston has likewise posted a sensational season on the soccer field, sharing the team lead with seven goals, including three game-winning goals. Stephens ranks third on the team in shots and tallied her second assist of the season in Rice's 4-2 victory over Middle Tennessee Wednesday evening in the opening round of the C-USA Championship.
The Rice soccer team is next in action in the C-USA semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8. The Owls face event host North Texas at 7 pm in Denton.
