Mananquil Named To C-USA Soccer All-Academic Team

C-USA Tournament Begins Wednesday In Denton
DALLAS — Rice's Lianne Manaquil has been named a 2019 In-Touch Credit Union Conference USA Soccer All-Academic honoree, the league office announced Monday in Dallas, Texas.
Mananquil is one of 22 C-USA student-athletes named to the league's two All-Academic Teams selected by a vote of the school's academic counselors. Nominees from each C-USA school had to be at least a sophomore in classification with a minimum 3.20 grade point average.
This semester Mananquil has maintained a 3.75 grade point average majoring in Kinesiology. Over her career the senior from of Jacksonville, Fla., has been named a C-USA Academic Medalist and a three-time selection to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. On the field the Owls' crafty midfielder has scored nine career goals and posted an eye-opening 21 assists that is among the highest career assist totals in school history. A year ago Mananquil was named the C-USA Midfielder of the Year and an all-region selection.
Conference USA's annual championship tournament begins Wednesday morning (Nov. 6) in Denton, Texas, and concludes on Sunday. The Owls are the event's No. 3 seed and face No. 6 seed Middle Tennessee at 4:30 pm in the opening round.
