Owl Junior Posts Second-Fastest Mark In School History
After 12 swimming events and the second of three diving events, Rice holds second place in the team standings with 742 points. Meet host Houston owns a commanding lead in the 13-team meet with 1,187 points.
Washington State is third with 624 points, followed by Tulane (500), Nevada (471), UC-Davis (423), Colorado State (373), Florida Gulf Coast (372), Air Force (365), Northern Colorado (290), North Texas (49), Nebraska-Omaha (2) and New Mexico State (2).
Bui won the 100-fly over a starting field of 73 entries with a time of 53.42. Not only is the mark a NCAA Provisional cut, it's also the second-fastest in school history and best by any Owl in four years. Rice's individual scorers from Friday's action is as follows:
