Duggan Tied for 12th Through One Round of Steelwood Collegiate Invitational

Loxley, Ala. — Nick Duggan fired an even par 72 to sit in a 12th-place tie after one round of the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, hosted by South Alabama and played at the par-72, 7,096-yard Steelwood Country Club.
Rice is tied for eighth-place with Wofford after a 10-over par 298. Due to darkness, the remainder of the second round was postponed to tomorrow morning.
Freshman Thomas Bockholt III and junior Jake Benson are tied for 18th-place after posting a one-over par 73. Junior Rishi Kejriwal carded a four-over par 76 to sit in a tie for 42nd-place.
Sophomores Campbell Gibson and Harrison Hineline are tied for 49th and 62nd-place, respectively. Gibson posted a five-over par 77 while Hineline shot a seven-over par 79.
"Today was not our best day," said Rice head coach Justin Emil. "We have a big chance tomorrow so we are coming out fighting from the first tee time."
Mississippi State leads the tournament at two-under par, two strokes in front of Arkansas State. Cincinnati's Clay Amlung leads the individual tournament at six-under par, three strokes in front of Richmond's Michael Childress.
The second round resumes tomorrow at 7:40 a.m. with the final round beginning immediately after. Rice will be paired with student athletes from Davidson and Wofford.
