Rice Notches Victory After Weather Delay
HOUSTON -- The Rice senior duo of Annie Walker and Dominique Mazero both scored first half goals, and true freshman goalkeeper Bella Killgore posted four saves, to pace the Owls soccer team to a 2-0 non-conference victory over visiting Tulsa Sunday afternoon at Holloway Field.
Rice improved to 2-4-0 on the season. Tulsa is now 3-3-1 overall. The start of the contest was delayed by more than two hours due to weather conditions in the Houston area.
The Owls held a 15-11 advantage in shots and a 7-6 margin in corner kicks. The Rice goals were both the first of the year for the two seniors. Walker led all players with four shots, including three on-goal.
