Owls Next Play Friday Night At North Texas
Rice controlled the tempo in the first half, putting up five shots with a solid edge in set pieces. UAB keeper Kelsey Daugherty made four first half saves to keep the Owls off the board. Both squads were on the offensive in the second half, combining for a total of 13 shots. In the 60th minute Megan Hudgens threaded a pass through traffic on the right side, where Kamilah Mustafa found the back of the Rice net for her sixth goal of the season.
The Owls are now 3-6-0 on the season and 1-2-0 in C-USA league play. UAB improved to 5-4-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference.
Rice still has one more match remaining on the current road swing. The Blue & Gray next play North Texas in Denton on Friday (Oct. 5). This is a change from some earlier listings. The Owls are then back at home on Sunday (Oct. 7) for a C-USA match against Louisiana Tech.
