Owls Next Return Home To Host LA Tech Sunday Afternoon
North Texas was quickly on the offensive in the early going, putting up five shots with a pair of corners in the first 19 minutes of the contest. Rice took control from there, out-shooting the Mean Green a comfortable 14-6 all the way to the end of regulation.
The Owls twice it the crossbar in the closing minutes of the first half, but no goals on the scoreboard. North Texas' Berklee Peters tallied what proved to be the unassisted game-winning goal after making steal and scoring in traffic from close range.
The Blue & Gray is now 3-7-0 on the season and 1-3-0 in C-USA league play. North Texas improved to 8-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 in conference.
Rice has wrapped up the stretch of back-to-back road games. The Owls are next in home action at Holloway Field on Sunday (Oct. 7) for a C-USA match against Louisiana Tech. Start time against the Bulldogs is set for 1 pm.
