While storms in the Houston area continued to wreak havoc on the singles schedule of the Rice Fall Invitational, a pair of Owls doubles teams captured flight titles in action held both at the George R. Brown Tennis Center and the Jewish Community Center on Saturday.
Linda Huang and Michaela Haet downed Moka Ito and Andie Daniell of Alabama, 6-3 to capture the Flight One title while Anna Bowtell and Victoria Smirnova outlasted Texas A&M Corpus Christi's Vanessa Reinecke and Mariya Shumeika, 7-5 to win the Flight Three championship.
Play will conclude on Sunday with the completion of the second round of singles.
