CSCAA 2018 Spring Scholar All-America Teams
NORFOLK, Va. -- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recognized the Rice Owls as a 2018 Scholar All-American Team with a 3.80 Spring grade point average that is the second-highest in the nation.
The 3.80 GPA is a cumulative total from 24 student-athletes on the swim team's 2018 spring roster. Rice's 2018 GPA is No. 2 in the nation for Division I swim teams, including both women's and men's programs.
Last spring the Rice swimmers finished second in both the Conference USA Championship meet and the CSCAA National Invitational (often called the `Swimming NIT'). The Owls are under the direction of head coach Seth Huston, who recently completed his 16th year at the helm of the program.
