Parish won the 200- (1:51.72), 500- (4:59.04) and 1650-yard freestyle (17:20.48), as well as register a time 2:03.18 in the 200-backstroke that is the best mark in C-USA so far. Not only did the San Antonio native win three individual events over the two-day four-team home meet, she also swam on Rice's winning 400- and 800-free relay teams that registered the top C-USA times. Parish's 17:20.48 in the mile on Saturday was the 13th best mark in the nation so far this season.
It is the first time in Parish's career to be named the C-USA Swimmer of the Week. Marshall's Maddie Young was named the league's Diver of the Week.
The Rice swim team is next in action at the four-team Dual-A-Pool-Ooza Meet in Denver, Colorado, on Oct. 19-20 (Fri.-Sat.). The Owls are scheduled for three dual meets over the two days against Tulane, Florida International and meet host Denver.
