Owls and Horns Dominate Invite Doubles

Rice and Texas will face off in both of the doubles finals on Sunday morning after sweeping away all challengers during the second day of action at the 2015 Rice Invitational at the George R Brown Tennis Center on Saturday.
Rice's Lindsey Hodge and Alison Ho won twice on Saturday to move onto Sunday's 1 Flight final, where they will take on Breaunna Addison and Dani Wagland of Texas. Savannah Durkin and Fernanda Astete matched that effort in Flight 2, winning a pair of matches on Saturday to advance to a Sunday championship match against a duo from Texas (Pippa Horn and Dani Wagland).
Lindseyn Hodge and Katherine Ip dropped their semifinal matches in 1 Flight. Hodge, who picked up the win in women's singles last weekend in Midland, fell to Houston's Despoina Vogasari in three sets 6-1, 6-7, 6-2 and Katherine Ip fell to Addison 6-0, 6-2.
Rice swept to both finals slots at in both 2 & 3 Flights but the field was re-drawn for Sunday to prevent teammates from playing each other.
Savannah Durkin and Emily Smith (2 Flight) and Solomiya Zinko and Alison Ho (3 Flight) reached their respective finals.
Action continues on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the final matches in both singles and doubles.
