BOWLING GREEN, Ky - Rice junior goalkeeper Amy Czyz tied a career high with 11 saves to help the visiting Owl soccer team claim a 0-0 tie in double-overtime at Western Kentucky Friday night in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Hilltoppers held a 23-8 advantage in shots and a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks, but Czyz and the Owls' backline held firm to finish with a 0-0 game after 110 total minutes of action. The junior from Danville, Calif., tied her career-high in saves, the fourth-highest single game save total in school history. The Blue & Gray was paced by Quinny Truong's three shots.
Both Rice and WKU have identical 0-1-1 records on the season. The Owls continue the current road swing on Sunday (Sept. 1) with a match at SEC power Vanderbilt. Start time in Nashville, Tenn., is set for 7 pm.
