Owls Wrap Weekend Sweep

The 34th ranked Rice men's tennis team closed out a busy weekend of action by downing Texas-San Antonio and Abilene Christian by matching 6-1 scores at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium on Saturday.
The lone loss for the Owls on the day came at the No. 1 singles position. Sophomore Peter Frank fell in the morning match with UTSA, while Philipp Seifert fell in a third-set super tie-break in the nightcap. The Owls won nine of their ten singles matches on the afternoon in straight sets before Michael Nuesslein grabbed a third-set tie break against Abilene Christian.
The Owls will be out of action until they take on San Diego State (Feb. 28) and San Diego (March 2) on their trip to California during Rice's Spring Break.
