The Rice Owls closed out their weekend road trip with a 6-1 over North Texas at the Waranch Tennis Complex in Denton on Sunday.
"This was a great effort from our whole team," Rice head coach Elizabeth Schmidt said. "I was very pleased with how we bounced back after a tough loss yesterday and really dominated the match from start to finish," Schmidt added.
Rice grabbed the doubles point thanks to identical 8-1 wins at No.3 and No. 1 and then swept to five straight wins in singles to close out the match.
The 42nd ranked Owls (12-8) will close out the regular season next Saturday when they host C-USA rival UAB at noon at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium. Prior to the match, the Owls will honor departing seniors Julie Chao and Rebecca Lin as part of Senior Day activities.
