Adam Wins Shirley Crowe Decathlon

Rice decathlete Philip Adam set personal-best mark when he won the Shirley Crowe Decathlon held at Rice University with 7,396 points, just ahead of Wichita State's Chris Dickman who followed 7,074 points.
Adam's previous high-point total was 7,331 points, set in winning the 2009 Conference USA Outdoor Championship. Sophomore Pete Navarra, from Peach Tree City, Ga., also set a personal-best with 5,532 points. His previous high was 4,964 points at the 2009 C-USA Outdoor.
