Rice Girls Basketball Camp Information Now Available

The Rice Girls Basketball Camp dates have been set for this summer and registration is now open. Day camps, Position Camp, Shooting Camp, and Individual Camp are the options for girls to improve their basketball skills.
Day Camps are available June 7-11 and June 21-25. The Position Camp will be held June 25 to June 27, while the Shooting Camp is held July 30 to August 1. The Individual Camp takes place August 1 through August 5.
Camp Details
Day Camps
a) June 7- June 11 (8 - 11:30am) 11 years and younger
b) June 7 - June 11(1 - 5pm) 12 years and older
c) June 21 - June 25 (8 - 11:30am) 11 years and younger
d) June 21 - June 25 (1 - 5pm) 12 years and older
Participants: Two sessions are available for girls ages 12 to high school seniors. Two sessions are available for girls 11 years and younger. Where: Tudor Fieldhouse at Rice University and other on-campus facilities will be utilized by camp attendees. General Information: Camp cost covers five days of individual instruction, a camp t-shirt and individual and team competitions with awards. Instruction occurs through organized station work concentrating on shooting, ball handling, and footwork as well as offensive and defensive strategies. Registration: 30 minutes prior to each camp. Camp "b" , "d" - $210
Position Camp
Friday, June 25 (6pm) through Sunday, June 27 (12 noon)
Participants: All girls ages 12 to high school seniors.
Where: Tudor Fieldhouse at Rice University and other on-campus facilities. General Information: Camp includes intense work on developing the position of your choice (post, wing, or point guard), two nights lodging, meals on campus, a camp t-shirt, and awards in competition. Become a better player at your position through specialized instruction from excellent teachers of the game! Registration: June 25 from 5 - 6pm
Resident campers - $250
Commuting campers - $210 (includes lunch and dinner when appropriate)
Campers receive free admission to a designated women's basketball game next season.
Shooting Camp
Friday, July 30 (6pm) through Sunday, August 1 (11:30am)
Participants: All girls ages 10 to high school seniors are eligible to participate. Where: Tudor Fieldhouse at Rice University and other on-campus facilities will be utilized by camp attendees. General Information: Camp cost covers intense shooting instruction, a videotape for each camper of their shooting form before and after instruction, a written evaluation, two nights lodging, meals on campus, a camp t-shirt, and awards for shooting competition. The fundamentals for a sound shot are taught and drilled continuously, focusing on footwork and basic offensive moves. Registration: July 30 from 5 - 6pm
Resident campers - $250
Commuting campers - $210 (includes lunch and dinner when appropiate)
Individual Camp
Sunday, August 1 (6pm) through Thursday, August 5 (noon)
Participants: All girls ages 10 to high school seniors. Where: Enjoy meals and housing on the Rice University campus in one of the university colleges. Camp sessions will be held at Tudor Fieldhouse and other on-campus facilities. General Information: Camp cost covers instruction in basketball fundamentals, four nights lodging, meals on campus, a camp t-shirt, and awards in team and individual competitions. Campers will learn through organized station work concentrating on shooting, ball handling, footwork and defense. Also included are individual instruction, practices, games, and individual and team competitions. Registration: August 1 from 5 - 6 pm
Resident campers - $400
Commuting campers - $320 (includes lunch and dinner when appropriate)
