
Owls Fall to Texas, 4-3

Bruno Rosa and Isamu Tachibana each defeated ranked opponents, but 11th-ranked Texas had too much firepower as the Longhorns down the 36th-ranked Owls 4-3 at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin on Tuesday night.
Rosa, who came into the match ranked 45th nationally, took a straight set decision from 45th-ranked Ed Corrie of Texas (6-3, 6-3). Tachibana came back from a 6-1 loss in the first set to best 112th-ranked Olivier Sajous 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Tobias Scheil picked up the Owls final point, taking a three-set decision at No. 4 singles, (6-7. 6-3, 6-4)
The Owls will be back home for three matches this weekend against Texas Pan American, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and San Diego State as part of the 51st Annual Hampton Inn Galleria Rice Invitational.
