Rice's men's cross country team, under head coach Jon Warren, have been ranked second in this year's Conference USA pre-season poll. The Owls placed third in last year's C-USA championship meet.

Senior Brett Olson and junior Brad Morris, who both finished in the top 25 at the C-USA championship last year, will lead an experienced team in the hunt for a conference title as they look to end the UTEP's run of four-straight championships.

The 2008 C-USA Championship takes place on Nov. 1 at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tennessee.
