The Rice Owls men's cross country squad placed second at the HBU Invitational with 50 points as UT-Pan American won the five-team event with 21 points. Host Houston Baptist was third with 66 points.
The Owls were led by Simon Bucknell's seventh place finish at 15:29, while Michael Trejo was 10th (15:38) and Justin Maxwell was 11th (15:41). Also Brad Morris was 13th (15:45) and Alex Solomon was 14th (15:56). Brett Olson finished 16th with a time of 15:57 and Scott Zivick was 26th (16:52).
