DiSesa Splits Matches at ITA All-American Qualifiers

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif -- Rice senior Blair DiSesa lost her opener, but rebounded with a three-set win in the consolation draw on Tuesday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships qualifying tournament in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
DiSesa, ranked 77th in the preseason poll, stumbled against UCLA's 64th-ranked Gordon Laura for a 7-5, 6-1 loss in the opening round. The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., native rebounded in the consolation draw with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory over 79th-ranked Celia Durkin of Stanford.
Tournament action continues on Wednesday for DiSesa when she faces Minnesota's Nischela Reddy, ranked 86th, at 11 am (CDT) in the consolation draw round of 16. Complete tournament results are available here.
