
Owls Host Two Matches This Weekend

HOUSTON - Rice looks to get back on the winning track this week, hosting UTEP on Friday at 7 pm and Tulane on Sunday at 1 pm at Autry Court in Conference USA volleyball action.
The Owls have lost their last three matches, with two coming in 3-2 decisions. This week's matches mark the start of the second half of C-USA action in the western division. Rice has six league matches remaining with rematches against UTEP, Tulane, Tulsa and SMU along with both meetings with Houston.
UTEP is 15-7 overall and 5-4 in C-USA. The Miners defeated the Owls previously this season with a 30-18, 24-30, 30-28, 35-33 win in El Paso on Oct. 2. Junior Tessa Kuykendall led Rice with 17 kills on .395 hitting in the match.
Tulane is 2-9 this year and 1-7 in the league. After a delay from Hurricane Rita, the Owls opened their first C-USA season against the Green Wave in College Station, securing a 30-21, 30-26, 30-25 win. Senior Olaya Pazo led the way with 16 kills.
