This week's ON THE BOARDS segment features sophomore Samantha Stovall. Samantha earned the Coaches Award last season for her hard work and dedication on the court. She has played in both of Rice's games this season, helping Rice to a 1-1 record early in the season. A cognitive science major from Jenks, Okla., she is from Brown College.

Three words that describe me are: silly, outgoing and honorable.

My hiddne talent is: Magic!

The one thing most people don't know about me is: I'm an open book.

If I could bring one thing from home it would be: my momma.

I wear #12 because: It was my number in AAU and in high school. I became 12 when I moved to the guard position in AAU, even though I was a post in high school. 12 is where it's at!

I started playing basketball: because my mom made me. I grew to really enjoy it!

My dream job is: being an actress in movies or tv.

My post-Rice ambition is: Getting a job that I enjoy.

The Lady Owl to watch out for this season is: The sophomore class!

The team I would most like to add to the schedule is: Another team located on a tropical island.

My most embarrassing moment was: in fifth grade when I sneezed and stuff came out of my nose into my hand and I was standing in front of a cute boy!

The most interesting place I've been is: Playa del Carmen because it was amazing. Beautiful beaches, miles of odd shaped pools, food whenever, shops, snorkling and parasailing.

The best advice I've ever been given is: Pray about it.

If you could have lunch with any one person, living or dead, who would it be and why? Jesus. I think that's pretty self explanatory.

The one thing I'd like to say but you didn't ask is: I'd like to give a shout-out to all my peeps at Brown College. I'd also like to say wuz up to my friends back home in Oklahoma. I miss y'all! Lastly, I say I love all my family and thanks for putting up with me!
