2019: Honor Athlete (Rice Athletics); Team captain who started all 19 of the team’s games in the midfield… Finished third on the team in with 1,579 minutes, more than 88 percent of the team’s total time… Played 80 or more minutes 13 times… Tied for fourth on the team with three goals… Scored the game-winning goal against crosstown rival Houston… Maintained a .462 shots-on-goal percentage and .231 shot percentage.
2018: All-Conference USA (Third Team); Recipient of the Rice Soccer Iron Owl Award (presented by the strength & conditioning staff); C-USA Academic Honor Roll; Rice Honor Athlete; Shared the team lead with four goals despite missing two full C-USA home games under concussion protocol… Every goal scored was against a C-USA opponent... Tallied the game-winning goal vs. Louisiana Tech… Starter for all 15 games in which she played... Maintained a team-leading .438 shots-on-goal percentage… Finished fifth on the squad with 1,356 minutes… Rarely came off the field before the concussion protocol, playing in 98.3 percent of the team’s total time to that point… Helped control the tempo of the game from her spot as a holding midfielder.
2017: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Consistent contributions as a sophomore proved critical to the team’s C-USA regular season championship… Started all 18 matches and rarely came off the field… Finished third on the team with 1,573 minutes (94.8 percent of the team’s total time)… Played 90 minutes (or more) eleven different times… Scored three goals, including only the second-ever NCAA Tournament goal in the history of the Rice soccer program (Nov. 10 at Baylor)… Also scored the game-winning goal on the road at Old Dominion and against fellow C-USA foe FAU… Took 22 shots playing forward out of the midfield… Maintained a steady .545 shots-on-goal percentage.
2016: C-USA Academic Honor Roll; C-USA All-Freshman Team; Earned the Rice Soccer Rookie of the Year Award as the program's top newcomer (*)... Played in all 17 contests with 15 starts in the midfield as a true freshman... Logged 1,171 minutes, the eighth-highest total on the team... Played 80 or more minutes six times... Averaged exactly 70 minutes for ten C-USA league games... Scored a goal on her only shot of the game against longtime foe Sam Houston at Holloway Field... Attempted a career-high three shots on the road at Middle Tennessee... Maintained a .267 shots-on-goal percentage.
*Note - There have been six Owls since 2002 that have been named the program's Rookie of the Year who have then gone on to earn the Rice Most Valuable Player Award before they graduated.
Club: Lonestar Soccer Club - 99G ECNL... Serves as team captain (2012-2016)... Attended U.S. National Training Center in San Marcos (2011-2013), and the U.S. National Combine (in Texas, January 2013).
High School: Attending St. Stephen's Episcopal High School where she is multi-sport athlete for the Spartans, including soccer volleyball and track... Leads the soccer team in goals so far this season... Outstanding student, with multiple selections to the Academic Honor Roll... Also attended Elgin High School, where she earned first team all-district and was named the Freshman of the Year after scoring 16 goals with with 35 assists... Earned Academic All-District for soccer, volleyball and softball.
Personal: Full name: Erin Hope Mikeska. Parents: Shawn and Lesley Mikeska of Elgin, Texas (three sisters, Courtney, Kristen and Jennifer). Continues Rice Athletics legacy as father (1985-86) and uncle, Carl (1982-85) were both baseball lettermen for the Owls.
