Malikova Earns Third American Track Athlete of the Week Honor

IRVING – After setting a school record, Barbora Malíková earned another conference honor for the Rice women's track and field team, being named the American Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Malikova impressed once again, breaking Allison Beckford's 400m record of 52.16 set in 2002, with a time of 51.84s. Beckford's time was the national championship-clinching time in 2002.

This is the third conference honor of the season for Malikova, taking home the honor all three weeks she's competed.

Rice is set for the American Conference Championship next weekend in Birmingham, Ala.
