
Rice Earns No. 5 Seed in 2025 American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship

IRVING, Texas - The American Athletic Conference announced that the 72nd-ranked Rice Owls have earned the No. 5 seed in the AAC Men's Tennis Championships.
With the top-five seed, Rice earns a first-round bye and will not play until Friday. The Owls will have a rematch with No. 4 Tulsa on Friday at 2 p.m.
South Florida earns the league's top seed after finishing the regular season with the highest ITA ranking, sitting at No. 25 as of the most recent rankings.
To round out the top-five seeds, host Memphis earned the league's second seed, Florida Atlantic was named the No. 3 seed, and Tulsa earned the No. 4 seed. Rice has a victory over the third seed, and has 4-3 losses to the No. 2 and No. 4 seeds, both of those matches taking place on the road.
The men's championship begins Thursday, April 17, and continues through the April 20 final. The winner of the men's championship will earn The American's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships.
