HOUSTON - The 71st-ranked Rice Owls men's tennis team returns home for the first time in nearly three weeks to take on the Tulane Green Wave on Friday evening from the George R. Brown Tennis Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
Rice enters the match with a 10-8 record and is on a four match losing skid, falling to ranked opponents such as Texas A&M, Tulsa, and Memphis, along with Oklahoma State in that stretch. Prior to those matches, Rice won its previous three home matches over UT Arlington, Abilene Christian, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Tulane enters with a 5-11 record and has fallen in its three previous matches, all against ranked squads (Middle Tennessee, at USF, at FAU).
The Green Wave currently holds a 10-9 record over the Owls all-time, but the Owls won last year's meeting in New Orleans, 4-2. Prior to that, Tulane had won the previous six matches between the squads.
