HOUSTON – Rice men's tennis head coach Efe Ustundag has announced the Owls' 2026 spring schedule.
Rice opens the spring slate in Edinburg, facing Arkansas and UTRGV the weekend of Jan. 10. The Owls then return home to host the College UTR event Jan. 17–18.
Rice will travel west for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, competing in Palo Alto, California, against Oregon, Stanford and Utah from Jan. 23–24. The Owls close out the month in Beaumont with matches against Lamar and Lubbock Christian on Jan. 31.
"Every year we try to challenge our team with a strong national schedule," Ustundag said. "In addition to our conference play, we will take on a strong, road-heavy schedule that includes eight Power Four teams."
In February, Rice visits LSU in Baton Rouge on Feb. 2 before hosting the 25K PTT from Feb. 9–15. The Owls wrap up the month at Middle Tennessee, facing Utah, Old Dominion and the host Blue Raiders from Feb. 20–22.
Rice begins March with a home stretch, starting with Baylor on March 1. The Owls then host the Ralph O'Connor Invitational from March 6–8, welcoming DePaul and UAB.
"Our nonconference schedule will prepare us well for the later part of the season. I am excited to see how this team will compete away from home early and pick up where we left off from last season," Ustundag said.
Conference play begins March 13 at FAU in Boca Raton, followed by a trip to South Florida that same weekend. Rice visits Tulane on March 22 and closes the month in North Carolina with matches against UTSA and Charlotte.
Rice returns home to host Tulsa on April 3 and Memphis on April 5. The Owls conclude their home slate with SMU on April 8 and UT Arlington on April 11. Rice will then compete at the American Conference Championship in Tulsa from April 16–19.
