Rice Duo to Play for NCAA Doubles Spot After Semifinals Loss

SAN DIEGO – The Rice men's tennis duo of Petro Kuzmenok and Santiago Navarro will compete for a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championship after falling in the semifinals at the ITA Conference Masters on Saturday.
Kuzmenok and Navarro, who are 6-2 on the season, dropped their semifinal match to No. 4-seeded Oscar Martinez and Martin Del Puerto of East Tennessee State, 6-2, 7-5.
The pair will face Amar Tahirovic and Brendan McDonald of Bucknell in the third-place match on Sunday at 9 a.m. as they look to secure their place in the NCAA Doubles Championship.
