Kuzmenok named American Conference Player of the Month

IRVING – Rice junior Petro Kuzmenok has been named the American Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Month for September, the league announced Wednesday.
Kuzmenok went 6-1 during the month, highlighted by six consecutive victories. He won three straight-set matches to claim the Blue Division bracket at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Alabama, then advanced through three rounds of pre-qualifying at the ITA All-American Championships. His run ended with a three-set loss in the qualifying draw.
In doubles, Kuzmenok and partner Joshua Mandelbaum went 3-0, posting wins over Boise State, Clemson and North Alabama.
The men's tennis team will compete at the ITA Texas Men's Regional Championships in College Station from Oct. 15–19.
