PREVIEW: Rice Diving Rounds Out Arizona Trip Against NAU, Illinois

HOUSTON - The Rice Owls diving team will take on Northern Arizona and Illinois in a team diving event on Tuesday afternoon at the NAU Wall Aquatics Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event is set to begin at 3 p.m. CT.
The event will feature Rice, Northern Arizona, and Illinois all taking part in a team diving event. In team diving events, teams of divers will do a total of six different dives, with each competitor performing two dives. Each team must partake in all six dives, and they must do two each from the one meter springboard, the three meter springboard, and the platform.
Last time out, the Rice divers fared very well during the meet against Arizona State. In the one-meter dive, Megan Phillip won the event with a top score of 254.78. Rylee Coyne also had a podium finish with a third place score of 231.45. In the three-meter dive, Phillip finished in second place with a score of 249.53, while Coyne rounded of the top five competitors in the event with a score of 208.50.
Rice has met NAU twice in program history, once in 2005-06 in Flagstaff, and once in 2017-18 in Tucson. Rice is 2-0 all-time against NAU. This will be the first time the Owls and the Illini will meet in the pool.
