Men’s Basketball Announces AAC Schedule

HOUSTON — Five games against 2023-24 postseason teams headline Rice's Men's Basketball's American Athletic Conference schedule, the league announced on Thursday.
Rice will open the its first AAC season on the road on Jan. 1 at Tulsa. The Owls are opening its conference slate on the road for the fourth straight year and the fifth time in the last six years. It's the first time that Rice is opening its conference slate against the Golden Hurricane.
The Owls host their first home game of the new year against Charlotte on either Jan. 4 or 5. Rice plays the first of two games against North Texas in Denton on Jan. 8. If also hosts the Mean Green on Feb. 11.
Rice returns home for a pair of games, beginning Jan. 11 against Temple. Three days later (Jan. 14), it hosts UTSA.
Rice will make its first of two straight trips to Florida when it heads to Boca Raton to face Florida Atlantic on Jan. 19. After a home game against Tulane (Jan. 25), the Owls head back to the Sunshine State to take on regular season champion South Florida on Jan. 28.
The Owls bookend February with games against Memphis beginning on Feb. 2 in Tudor Fieldhouse. They close out the month at Memphis on Feb. 26. Rice will make a trip through North Carolina, beginning at East Carolina in Greenville on Feb. 5. The Owls then head to Charlotte on Feb. 8.
After facing Tulane in New Orleans (Feb. 15), Rice returns to Tudor Fieldhouse for a pair of games, first hosting AAC champion UAB (Feb. 19) before taking on Tulsa on Feb. 22.
Rice travels down to San Antonio to face UTSA on Mar. 2 before closing the regular season with its Senior Day against Wichita State on Mar. 6.
The AAC Tournament will take place Mar. 12-16 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Game times and television selections will be announced at a later date.
