Golf Sets Records During Final Round of Ram Masters Invitational

Fort Collins, Colo. — The Rice Golf team fired the second lowest round of the day to finish in fifth-place at the Ram Masters Invitational, played at Fort Collins Country Club.
The Owls carded a -9 271 to finish -8 at 832. The round of 271 and 54-hole score of 832 both set school records. The -9 also tied the fourth-lowest round to par in school history.
Senior Blake Benson posted the best round of his career, firing a three-under 67 to tie for 15th-place at -1. He also set a career-low 54-hole score of 209. The 67 is his first round of par or better this year and the ninth of his career, and it is his third career round in the 60's. It's also his third career top 20 finish.
Sophomore Jaivir Pande also tied for 15th-place, the best finish of his career, at -1. Pande fired a 67 to tie his career-best round and he set a new career-low 54-hole score of 209. The 67 is his second round of par or better this year and the sixth of his career, and the 67 is his third career round in the 60's. It is also his first career top 20 finish.
Junior Lukas Boandl tied for 18th-place at even par after carding a two-under 68. It is his fourth round of par or better this year and the 20th of his career, and the fourth round in the 60's this year and the seventh of his career. It is also his second top 20 finish this year and sixth of his career.
Freshman Daniel Zou poste d his second straight 69 to finish +1 in a tie for 24th-place, and sophomore Reggie Zhu tied for 31st-place at +2 after carding a 72.
Colorado State won the team competition at -22, four strokes in front of Utah Tech. Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti earned medalist honors at -13, four strokes ahead of CSU's Jake Rodgers.
