HOUSTON – The Rice Owls women's track & field team will look to build on their strong open to the 2024 campaign this weekend at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.

In total, the Owls will have 19 athletes competing in 13 events. Rice will be one of 66 teams competing this weekend in New Mexico, including Louisville, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Wisconsin and others.

Last time out Josie Taylor (high jump) and Tara Simpson-Sullivan (weight throw) picked up event titles at the Robert Platt Invitational at the University of Houston.

Entering the weekend, Simpson-Sullivan sits 12th in the NCAA for weight throw, while Eliza Kraule sits 25th in long jump and Josie Taylor is 26th in high jump.
