The duo only needs one more win to clinch an NCAA bid
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Rice tandem of Arthus de la Bassetiere and Kabeer Kapasi claimed a spot in the ITA Sectionals semifinals with a victory over a duo from Oklahoma on Friday, November 8.
The two Owls earned a hard-fought, three set victory over the duo of Asahi Harazaki and Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes, taking the match at 6-4, 3-6, 13-11. With the victory, the two are one victory away from a guaranteed spot in the NCAA Individual Championship later this month. The two can also earn the spot by virtue of finishing in third place in the ITA Sectionals.
The two will take on Bryce Nakashima and William Jansen of Ohio State tomorrow (11/9) at 8 a.m.
