
Swimming Falls to Houston and Miami in Simultaneous Dual Meet

In Brief: Rice dropped a pair of simultaneous dual matches against Houston (203-91) and Miami (193-68) on Friday at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston.
The Details: Junior Arielle Hayon posted Rice's lone event victory on the day, placing first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:02.07. Hayon's time ranks sixth in the AAC this season. Hayon also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.50 and third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.78. Freshman Siiri Einio also posted multiple top-three finishes, placing third in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:01.90 and 2:16.78. Einio now ranks fifth in the AAC this season in the 100-yard breaststroke. Junior Ella Dyson recorded Rice's final podium finish of the day, placing third in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:55.91.
Up Next: Rice returns to the Rice Competition Pool to host Miami tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, at 10:30 a.m. CT. The Owls will be celebrating Senior Day beginning at 10:20 a.m. Rice will honor seven seniors: Lauren Brantley, Mimi Filkin, Briana Gellineau, Lauren Hurt, Imogen Meers, Elizabeth Myers and Hunter Smith.
